On Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014 at 8:48 p.m. the City of Poughkeepsie 911 Center received several calls reporting shots fired and a man possibly shot at 15 Gifford Ave. Responding officers found that the victim, a 24-year-old city resident, had been transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital by private vehicle. The victim was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

An autopsy was conducted this morning by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner; the cause of death was a single gunshot wound to the neck.
