Man Arrested With Defaced Gun
At approximately 12:23 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, City of Poughkeepsie Police officers responded to the area of Kaal Rock Park for a report of possible shots fired. A male subject was located in the area and a foot pursuit ensued as he ran from police. A K-9 unit was requested from the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office and the male was located and detained without further incident.
An area search was conducted and two other males were located. The K-9 also located a fanny pack containing a defaced handgun which was loaded with one live round.
Davian Douglas, 19, a city resident, was charged with second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felonies; resisting arrest and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, misdemeanors; and a city ordinance ticket. He was held pending arraignment.
The other two males were charged with city ordinances.
