Search Warrant Leads to Marijuana Arrests
On Wednesday, May 27, 2015 members of the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department Neighborhood Recovery Unit were assisted by the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team and the City of Poughkeepsie Police Emergency Services Unit in executing a search warrant at 15 Thompson Street in the rear garage. This search warrant was the result of an investigation conducted by the Neighborhood Recovery Unit regarding marijuana distribution at that location.
As a result of the investigation, officers recovered approximately one and a half pounds of marijuana, confiscated two 12-gauge shotguns and seized approximately $1978. Oneil D. Hall, 27, of 42 Bement Avenue 2nd Floor, Poughkeepsie; Denton A. Hayles, 27, of 57 Cannon Street Apt. 217, Poughkeepsie; Rackish G. Salmon, 30, of 364 Legion Street Apt 37A, Brooklyn; and Ranier E. Crawford, 21, of 10 Dubois Avenue, Poughkeepsie, were all arrested and charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the second degree, a class D felony.
Additionally, Shaquan D. Smith, 22, of 29 North Hamilton Street, Poughkeepsie, and Robertson S.S. Whyte of 15 Thompson Street, Poughkeepsie, 52, were both arrested on outstanding warrants for local ordinance violations.
All subjects are being held by the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department until their arraignment in the the City of Poughkeepsie Court.
