National Night Out

On Tuesday, August 4, 2015, York City, like many other communities will be celebrating National Night Out, this crime prevention event brings awareness to what community members can do to educate and reduce criminal activity.

Being safe in your daily life and home is so important, the more you are aware and take proactive steps to fight crime and those who commit it, the safer your community will be.

Little things like good working door locks, keeping tracks of serial numbers or photographs of property and keeping an eye on your community all help to decrease crime and/or the fear of crime.

On Tuesday, August 4, 2015, York City Police Officers, Staff Members from The Community Services Division, Volunteers and McGruff will be out in the community visiting the more than 25 NNO sites in the City.

If your neighborhood or block is sponsoring events that night, please contact the York City Police, Community Services Division for more information.
