On Thursday, July 30, 2015, at approximately 9:17 p.m., two City of Poughkeepsie Police officers were on patrol in the area of Smith and Mansion streets, when they observed a man riding a yellow bicycle that closely matched the description of a bicycle that had been reported stolen.

The male fled on the bicycle, and then on foot, before jumping over a fence leading to the rear of 29 Lent St.

Numerous units set up a perimeter and searched for the subject. During the search, a defaced, Kel Tec 9mm handgun, loaded with eight live rounds, was located at the point that the suspect crossed the fence.

A K-9 track for the suspect was conducted with negative results.
