At approximately 1:52 a.m. this morning, Aug. 17, City of Poughkeepsie Police Dispatch received a call from a resident of Garfield Place reporting that someone had stolen tools from his truck within the past 45 minutes. While enroute to the call, the responding officer located a suspect in the area of Barclay Street and Garfield Place. While interviewing the suspect, the officer located numerous tools in the bushes which were eventually identified as belonging to the person who reported the theft.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect was involved in several other recent vehicle break-ins. He was identified as Londell Dyson, 26, of Poughkeepsie. He was charged with one count of thrid-degree burglary and four counts of criminal possession of stolen property, felonies, and two counts of petit larceny, a misdemeanor. Additional charges are possible pending further investigation.
