Release of new crime map to public

In order to improve our transparency with the public regarding crime in their neighborhoods the York City Police Department in partnership with BAIR Analytics is providing an interactive crime map that can be viewed by the public improving our crime prevention partnership.

York citizens can view a map and grid with crime in their area, sign up for neighborhood watch reports that automatically email a breakdown of recent crime activity and submit an anonymous tip about a crime directly to the police department.  Making our City safer requires a partnership between the community and its public servants.  By providing up to date crime information it is our hope that the partnership will grow and foster a safer City for everyone.

The map can be viewed on line by going to http://raidsonline.com, clicking on the state of Pennsylvania and selecting York City.  The information can also be accessed on Apple devices through the App Store.  More links will be provided shortly on the department website.

This service is being provided without the use of taxpayer dollars and will be the first of other improvements that are being made to better communicate with, receive tips from and partner with the community to solve crime.
