On Saturday, April 30th, 2016, the York City Police Department responded to four separate robberies where the victims were lured into the city for the sale of electronic devices.  The offenders would pose as buyers or sellers of an item, then rob the victims at gunpoint, no victims were injured.    The website offerupnow.com and craigslist.com was the source of contact with the victims and offenders.  Through a coordinated effort of shifts from the patrol division, all three offenders were identified, found and arrested.  The gun was recovered from Teonna Neely.

It is recommended that these transactions take place in a public place, which could include the front steps of the police station because of 360 degree camera coverage.  If a buyer or seller of an item is hesitant to meet you at the police station or any other public place for the transaction, this should be a warning of the transaction’s legitimacy.
