On 6/18/16 at approx. 8:30 pm officers from the York City Police Department attempted to take into custody a wanted individual.  Seeing the officers the wanted person stuck one officer with his vehicle and then drove towards another.  At this time the officers fired their weapons at the vehicle in order to protect themselves.  The wanted person fled the area in his vehicle leading to a vehicle pursuit.  During the pursuit the wanted person was able to escape and was later captured at Hanover Hospital. 

Pennsylvania State Police will be investigating the incident at the request of the District Attorney's Office which customary with officer involved shootings.  Both officers will be placed on administrative leave which is also customary with this type of event.  Any further questions should be directed to the Pennsylvania State Police or the York County District Attorney's Office.
