The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department has seen a recent increase in reports of Vehicle Break Ins in the residential areas south of Hooker Avenue, as well as the area around Georgetown Square. A person or persons has been going through unlocked cars and stealing property from therein. City Police advise residents NOT to leave any valuables in their vehicles and to secure their vehicles by locking all doors. Anyone observing suspicious persons or activity should call City Police at (845) 451-4000.
