Burglary Operation

The Homewood Police Department has been conducting an under cover operation to combat the recent increase in vehicle burglaries and vehicle thefts that have been occurring in the city's neighborhoods.  Last night HPD took two suspects into custody for suspicion of vehicle burglary in the Kensington Road area.  These suspects are currently being held for questioning and the investigation is on going.  HPD also responded to the 500 block of Oxmoor Road on a residential burglary in progress.  The suspect was arrested and is being held on  numerous felony charges.  Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.

The HPD undercover operation has been working closely with the Metro Area Crime Center to gather and share intelligence.  HPD would also like to thank our residents for their response to our public service announcements and their continued efforts to remove their valuables from their vehicles and lock them.
