The Homewood Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred last night at Walmart on Lakeshore Parkway.  At 1:00 A.M.  Officers were dispatched to a report of shots fired.  They located a male victim who had been shot in the upper torso.  The victim was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.  A suspect, who was a contracted security guard for Walmart,  was taken into custody and is being held at the Homewood Police Department pending further investigation.  Preliminary evidence indicates that the two individuals got into an altercation.  Homewood Detectives are in the process of trying to determine what the altercation was about.  The victim was treated and release earlier this morning.  HPD will release further information as it becomes available.
