Two Lorain County Residents Sentenced in Federal Court

On Thursday, June 19, 2019 Dameon “Gorilla”, age forty five pleaded guilty in federal court to multiple counts of possession of heroin/fentanyl, cocaine and crack cocaine, with the intent to distribute.  Robertson also pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of multiple firearms.  The plea stems from an investigation initiated by the Elyria Police Narcotics.  With the assistance of the Lorain Police Narcotics Unit, Elyria Police SRT and Lorain SWAT two search warrants were executed in the city of Lorain on September 3, 2018 which resulted in the recovery of $8,652.00 cash, four handguns, one New Frontier AR-15 rifle, approximately 11g of heroin/fentanyl, 125g of cocaine/crack cocaine and approximately 135g of marijuana.  Robertson has a long history of trafficking in drugs in Lorain County over the past decade.  Robertson was sentenced to 9 years in federal prison.

 

Also on Thursday, June 19, 2019 Ziaire DeSjon Duffy, age twenty six pleaded guilty to multiple counts of possession with intent to distribute heroin/fentanyl and fentanyl analogues, being in possession of multiple firearms and using a firearm to commit the offense of drug trafficking.  On Friday, May 18, 2018 Duffy led Lorain Police and the US Marshals on a high speed chase across Lorain County when they tried to stop and arrest him on an aggravated robbery warrant out of Elyria Police Department.  Duffy was already under investigation for another drug related offense being investigated by Lorain Police.  This investigation resulted in the recovery of 155.14g of fentanyl/heroin/fentanyl compound as well as a Ruger SR 40 semi automatic pistol.  Prior to this investigation, Duffy had accumulated six felony drug cases since 2013.  In addition to his drug cases, Duffy has a long history of committing violent offenses in Lorain County as well.  Duffy was sentenced to 22.5 years in federal prison.

 

In addition to these two recent cases, Russell Davis, fifty, was also sentenced in Federal Court for offenses committed in Lorain County.  Earlier in 2019, Davis was sentenced to life in prison in for causing the death of twenty three year old Jacob Castro-White.  Jacob died from a drug overdose from drugs sold to him by Davis. 

 

Gregory Raymore, thirty two, is awaiting sentencing in Federal Court for being in possession of a handgun while on federal parole.  Raymore’s arrest is connected to a 2018 homicide in Lorain in which Andre Hines was shot and killed.

 

These cases were able to be prosecuted at the federal level through a collaborative effort among local and federal law enforcement agencies as well as the Lorain County Prosecutor’s Office and the Federal Prosecutor’s Office.  The Lorain Police Department will continue to seek the assistance of Federal Agencies when applicable to ensure maximum accountability for recidivist offenders ensuring the highest level of service and protection for our citizens.
