Port Orange Police DepartmentHOMES FOR SALE THIEVESThe Port Orange Police Department would like to advise our community about a black couple targeting homes with "For Sale" signs in their yard. In each case the black couple would show up unannounced claiming they were in the market for a home. Once inside the residence, the black male would do most of the talking. The black female would disappear as if checking out the residence and after leaving the resident owner would discover that their credit cards would be missing. The black male is described as 6'02" to 6'04", very heavy 250 to 330 lbs, wears a white hat, speaks with no accent, and is approximately 35 to 45 years of age. The black female walks with a cane, possibly has her leg wrapped. They claim they are from Fayetteville, NC, parts of Georgia, and/or opening a business in the area. The black female also claims to be a nurse, 5'5" to 5'09", 140 to 160 lbs, 35 to 45 years old. They are driving a large Ford Crown Vic or Mercury type vehicle. The color of the vehicle is possibly sandy, beige or metallic in color. Credit Cards are the only item taken and immediately used thereafter at local Wal-Mart, Target, or convenience stores. If you have any information about these individuals, please contact Detective Sgt. Wayne Dorman at (386) 506-5881. If you have any questions about this or other alerts, please contact Crime Prevention Officer Dave Miller at 506-5822 or by e-mail at dmiller@port-orange.org Date: 10:54:19 AM 09/18/2007 EDT
