NRU Makes Felony Heroin Arrests
On October 1, 2013 members of the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department Neighborhood Recovery Unit, arrested two individuals in the area of 120 Hudson Avenue that were in possession of drugs that they intended to sell. These arrests were the result of a Neighborhood Recovery Unit investigation and the ensuing vehicle traffic stop.
During the arrests, Officers recovered sixty-three (63) bags of heroin, $322 of United States Currency, and a small quantity of marijuana.
Isiah J. McCracken (date of birth 4/18/91) of 49 1/2 Smith Street, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, an unclassified misdemeanor; and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.
Douglass L. Owens (date of birth 2/16/83) of 4 Oak Street, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony. In addition, Douglass Owens had an active Dutchess County Probation Warrant and a Bench Warrant issued by the City of Kingston Court for harrassment in the second degree.
The arrested subjects are being held at the City of Poughkeepsie lockup pending their arraignment at City of Poughkeepsie Court.
