Search Warrant at 6 Innis Ave. Leads to Arrest


On March 28, 2014 members of the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department Neighborhood Recovery Unit, Emergency Service Unit and New York State Police conducted a search warrant at 6 Innis Avenue, first floor apartment. This search warrant was the end result of an investigation into illegal drug sales at the location. 
 
As a result of the investigation, officers recovered over three (3) ounces of heroin, approximately two (2) ounces of cocaine, $12,438 in United States Currency, packaging materials and a scale used for the sale of narcotics. 
 
Further, three illegal handguns and one .22 caliber Mossberg rifle were seized from the location.  The handguns recovered were a .357 Magnum Revolver, a .44 Colt Revolver and a Lorcin .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun.  In addition, numerous rounds of ammunition and two (2) bullet resistant vests were also located.  
 
Levy Lassiter Jr. (date of birth 2/3/63) of 6 Innis Avenue, was arrested and charged with two (2) counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, both class B felonies; three (3) counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, all class C felonies; and three (3) counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, all class D felonies.  
 
Yvel Lassiter (date of birth 2/3/95) of 6 Innis Avenue, was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, both class B felonies 
 
Levy Lassiter Jr. and Yvel Lassiter are being held at the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department pending their arraignment at City of Poughkeepsie Court.
