Four Charged in Gang Assault
On Tuesday, May 6, at approximately 6:50 p.m., City of Poughkeepsie Police officers responded to the area of 15 North Clinton St. for a reported stabbing. A 20-year-old male victim was located with a severe laceration to his head and several stab wounds to his torso. He was taken to St. Francis Hospital Trauma Center and was admitted with non-life-threatening injuries. An investigation led to detectives and officers locating a number of subjects hiding in a first-floor apartment at 51 N. Clinton St. Taken in to custody were: John Ramos, 28, of Poughkeepsie; Moises Nieves-Rios, 28, of Poughkeepsie; Juan M. Lapham-Decountreras, 23, homeless; and Pediyah Ben-Levi, 20, of Poughkeepsie. All four were charged with Gang Assault in the first degree, a Class B violent felony, and are being held pending arraignment.
