Burglary at CVS Pharmacy

On 01-30-10 a Burglary occurred at the CVS pharmacy located at Brown and Mesa drive in Mesa while the business was closed. The suspect in the attached photograph entered the pharmacy and removed several prescription drugs from the shelves before exiting the store. The suspect is seen talking on a cell phone while committing this offense. Please contact Detective Engle of the Mesa Police Department at 480-644-2384 with any information pertaining to this case.

Robbery at the Shell Station

The above listed subjects entered the Shell Station during normal business hours on 01-23-10. Both subjects went to the cooler and each selected a 12 pack of beer. The male subject went to the counter and acted if he was paying for the beer, while the female subject exited the store without paying for the beer she selected. The male subject then began running and also exited the store without paying for his beer. The store employee went outside to follow the subjects. The male subject turned and threw the 12 pack of beer bottles at the employee, striking him in the face and causing injury. The subjects were last seen on foot in the area of Dobson and University. Robbery at Roosevelt and Main Street in Mesa

On 12-15-09 at approximately 0400 hours two suspects ordered pizza from a business in Tempe and asked for the pizza to be delivered to an apartment complex on Roosevelt south of Main Street in Mesa. Both suspects confronted the pizza delivery driver in the courtyard when he arrived and they both assaulted him and robbed him at gunpoint.

On August 6, 1994 at 12:11 a.m., the listed suspects started a fight with several subjects at a Fry's grocery store, located at 1244 S. Gilbert Road in Mesa. Suspect #2, pictured at left, allegedly pulled a gun and fired it, killing one subject. The suspects got into the listed vehicle and were last seen westbound on Hampton from the shopping center parking lot. Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Witness at 480-948-6377. Suspect #1: Hispanic male, 20 to 26 years old, 5' 8", 120 to 130 lbs., thin build, black or dark brown shoulder-length curly hair, bushy at bottom, moustache and goatee.

Suspect #2 (pictured): Hispanic male, 16 to 17 years old, 6' to 6' 2", 160 to 165 lbs., thin build, dark brown or black hair shaved close on the sides and combed straight back, possibly a light moustache.

On 01-15-10 at approximately 0200 hours the Circle K at Dobson and University in Mesa was Robbed by a black male. The suspect threatened the clerk then took several cartons of cigarettes and alcoholic beverages from the store. The suspect carried the cigarettes and alcoholic beverages out of the store in a large black trash bag. If you have any information on this case, contact Detective R. Assistance Needed in Identifying Homicide Suspects

On Monday, December 21, 2009 at approximately 12:15 p.m., Mesa officers responded to 130 E. McKellips in reference to a shooting. Initial reports indicated that three victims had been shot.

The victims included a father, daughter and son. The mother was in the trailer, but she was not injured. The father was shot several times and later pronounced deceased at a local hospital. The daughter was shot once and is stable, with non-life threatening injuries. The son was also shot once, with non-life threatening injuries.

According to interviews, the daughter was placing a dress in a vehicle in their driveway and saw two Hispanic males, wearing hooded sweatshirts, walk north past her in the trailer park. As she was walking back to her trailer, she saw the suspects running toward her. She was screaming for her father to help her, as she tried to enter the trailer. After entering the trailer, her parents barricaded the door with their bodies to prevent the suspects from entering. One suspect was able to keep the door from being completely closed, and witnesses stated the two suspects began yelling for the family to open the door. They didn't and within seconds several shots were fired through the door, striking the three family members.

A bright red pick-up truck was seen leaving the complex next door to the incident address by a resident. The witness reported hearing shots, then immediately seeing a Hispanic male jumping into the passenger side of the red truck. The truck traveled in reverse and exited the complex through the east exit. Motive is still unknown.

Suspect #1 is described as a Hispanic male in his early 20's, between 5'10 to 6' tall, weighing 150 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a white stripe around the hood, blue jeans and black shoes. (See attached composite drawing for suspect #1.)

Suspect #2 is described as a Hispanic male in his early 20's, 5'6" tall, weighing 140 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with red on the sleeves, blue jeans and black work boots.

HIT AND RUN SUSPECT

The Mesa Police are seeking the public's assistance in locating a vehicle involved in a hit and run collision where a 5 year old child was severely injured. On January 2, 2010 at 6:40PM, the Mesa Police responded to a hit and run accident at 1400 Block of North Center. Upon arrival it was discovered four minors were attempting to cross Center Street from the east side to the west side. They were waiting in the middle of the two-way left hand turn lane as a vehicle was approaching southbound on Center in the median lane. The 5 year old child was hit by the southbound vehicle on the driver's side as he attempted to cross the street. The child suffered severe, life-threatening injuries in this collision, including skull fractures, fractured pelvis, both legs fractured, and severe internal injuries. The vehicle continued to travel southbound and did not attempt to stop.

The only description given was a four door sedan possibly dark in color. Investigators recovered parts from the driver's side of the vehicle in the roadway. They were able to locate a part number off one of the pieces and were able to match it to a silver 2005 Ford Taurus. Investigators believe damage to the suspect vehicle will consist of the following: the driver's sideview mirror assembly missing and the door handle on the driver side missing (the pull-up part to open the door) which were collected at the scene. Possible damage will be denting on front driver's side and fender, driver's side door, and cracked windshield on driver's side.

Narrative: On 11/18/09 at 2000 hours the above listed subjects entered the store together and went to the where the spotting scopes were in the store. Mesa's Most Wanted Arrest

Nathan Dawane Keeney was located and arrested on December 1^st, 2009 in Texas. Keeney is classified as a Repeat Offender and had several outstanding Felony warrants out for his arrest. In November of this year he was listed as one of Mesa's Most Wanted criminals. Keeney has been extradited from Texas and is currently in custody in Arizona. AGGRAVATED ROBBERY

On November 30, 2009 at approximately 0300 hours two suspects robbed the Shell Gas station located at 16 west McKellips Road in Mesa Arizona. During the robbery the store clerk was also physically assaulted. The suspects took an unknown amount of cigarettes and an unknown amount of US currency. The suspects fled the store on foot prior to Police arrival and are still outstanding. No vehicle or weapons were seen. Mesa Police report #20093340075.

STRONG ARM ROBBERY

On 11-25-09 the Chevron gas station located in the 4300 bock of east University in Mesa Arizona was robbed. An unknown male suspect entered the gas station and asked for change for a $20 dollar bill. When the clerk took the bills out of the register the suspect grabbed the money and ran out of the business with the stolen money including the original $20 bill. The suspect got into the drivers seat of a dark colored compact car that was parked in front of the business and fled prior to Police arrival. Mesa Police report #20093130783.

BANK ROBBERY

On 11-24-2009, an unidentified male suspect robbed the Wells Fargo Bank located in the 1900 block of south Gilbert Road in Mesa Arizona. The suspect stole an undetermined amount of cash from the bank. The suspect was last seen walking northbound from the bank on foot and is still outstanding. Mesa Police report #20091530085.

Mesa Police Need Assistance to Identify Robbery Suspect

The Mesa Police Department is looking for assistance in locating a robbery suspect.

On October 27, 2009, the Mi Lindo Mexico Mercado at 103 West 8th Avenue in Mesa was robbed. The suspect entered the store with his face partially obscured by a green bandana. The suspect displayed a large knife and demanded money from the store clerk. The suspect collected cash and Marlboro cigarettes and kicked a store patron in the stomach as he fled. A witness observed the suspect enter a white SUV with low profile tires.

On November 16^th, 2009 the Wells Fargo bank inside the Albertson located in the 1900 block of West Baseline in Mesa Arizona was robbed. The suspect indicated he had a weapon but no weapon was actually seen. The suspect fled the scene prior to Police arrival and is still outstanding.

Aggravated Assault

On 11-09-09 at approximately 1515 hours, the victim entered her residence and was inside for approximately 10 minutes. She was walking towards her bedroom and, upon reaching the end of the hallway, she noticed an unknown male by her bedroom. The Hispanic male suspect moved towards the victim and pushed her violently to the ground causing a signficant injury. The suspect fled on foot through the front door in an unknown direction of travel. No weapon was displayed by the suspect and it appears entry to the residence was made with the removal of a doggie door.

Hispanic male in his mid 20's, approximately 5'07" in height and 180 pounds, short dark hair, last seen wearing red baseball cap, white shirt, blue jeans, and work boots.

BANK ROBBERY

On November 7th, 2009 at approximately 1130 hrs the Bank of America located in the 4300 block of east Broadway in Mesa Arizona was robbed. The suspect stated he had a gun during the robbery. The suspect was last seen jumping over a fence in the southwest corner of the bank parking lot. The suspect fled the scene prior to Police arrival and is still outstanding. Keep Guns Out of the Wrong Hands

According to federal statistics, there are guns in approximately half of all U.S. households. If you do keep a gun in your home, it is vital to keep it out out of sight from burglars and hidden from children. Properly store your firearms and practice safe firearm storage options. When you are not home, keep them well hidden, so if you have the misfortune of being burglarized, your gun will not be stolen and used in another crime.

Make sure you have the serial number, make and model of all guns you own. Store the information in a separate location from where your gun is stored. Do not disclose to strangers, or anyone you don't know well, that you have firearms in your home. Remind your children it is private information and not to tell anyone what weapons you own.

Make certain that firearms are not casually accessible to anyone. Do not leave firearms in your vehicles; if you must, keep it well hidden and locked. Don't let people see you store the weapon in your car trunk; place it there before you get to your destination. Please, NEVER leave your gun on the seat, in the glove box or in the center console.

One way to prevent burglaries is to keep your doors and windows closed and locked. Never leave valuables in sight. This applies to both your home and your vehicle.

The Mesa Police Department has gun locks available free of charge while supplies last. They fit most guns. Please contact a crime prevention officer to get a free gun lock.

Commercial Theft

T mobile Store 937 N. Dobson 10-12-09 1441

On 10-12-09 at 2:41pm 4 persons entered the T Mobile store at Riverview. The subjects consisted of 3 black male subjects ranging between the ages of 18-25. The subjects possibly removed two cellular phones form the store without paying for them and then left the area. If you recognized any of these subjects please contact Det. Armed Robbery

On 10-13-09 at approximately 1410 hours, the victim had exited the Augusta Ranch gated community onto S. Lansing when he was approached by two unknown black male suspects. Suspect #1 introduced himself as “K-T” from Chicago and asked the victim where he was from. Suspect #2 pulled out a black and silver handgun, held it in his right hand, and pointed it at the ground as Suspect #1 continued to speak with the victim. Suspect #1 grabbed the victim’s baseball hat and demanded his property. The victim complied and both suspects fled the area on foot.

The victim began to check the area for the suspects and located suspect #1 as he got into the front passenger seat of a black passenger vehicle. The vehicle was described as a black 90's model Honda or Acura with a spoiler. A partial AZ license was obtained on the suspect vehicle as possibly "AGE."

The suspects are described as the following:

Suspect #1: B/M, 20-25 YO, 6’00”/200 lbs, black hair, LSW blue shirt, introduced himself as “K-T” from Chicago

Suspect #2: B/M, 20-25 YO, 5’08” to 6’00”, black hair, LSW LA Raiders football jersey with number 18

Armed Robbery

On 09-27-09 at approximately 0558 hours, the shell gas station at Center and Mckellips was robbed at gunpoint by an unknown race male. The suspect was last seen wearing a black long sleeved shirt, blue jeans and a mask covering his face.

The suspect vehicle is a newer model Dodge Quad Cab that is either gray or silver in color. It has stock chrome wheels and tinted windows. The first two letters of the license plate on the truck are"AB".

Commercial Burglary

On 09-25-09 at approximately 1030 hours, three suspects burglarized the Rent-A-Center at Dobson and Broadway in Mesa. Two black male suspects entered the storage area of business through the back door while one white female suspect entered through the front door. The female suspect walked around in the customer area of the store while the two male suspects removed a television set and a lap-top computer from the back of the store.

The suspects are described as;

THE FIRST BLACK MALE SUSPECT WAS WEARING A GREENISH BLUE SHORT SLEEVE SHIRT, GRAY PANTS, BLACK TENNIS SHOES, AND A BASEBALL CAP THAT WAS DARK GRAY WITH A LIGHT GRAY BILL. THE BILL ON THE HAT WAS STRAIGHT.

THE SECOND BLACK MALE SUSPECT WAS WEARING A WHITE V-NECK SHORT SLEEVE SHIRT, A WHITE WITH BLACK BILL CHICAGO WHITE SOX BASE BALL HAT WITH A STRAIGHT BILL, BLUE JEANS, AND WHITE AND BLACK TENNIS SHOES.

SEXUAL ASSAULT

On 09-09-09 at approximate 0330 hours a victim was walking home in the 300 block of south Alma School Road in Mesa Arizona. The female was contacted by two male subjects one of which sexually assaulted her. The suspects fled from the area and are still outstanding. See attached composite for suspect number one.

Suspect #1 - Hispanic male, light skinned, 20-30 years old, 5’7” to 5’9”, 190 – 200 lbs, short or shaved black hair, pierced left ear, no visible tattoos. Last seen wearing black jean pants, white cotton t-shirt, white tennis shoes.

Suspect #2 – Hispanic male, 20-30 years old, 5’7” to 5’9”, 230 – 240 lbs, bald, no visible piercings or tattoos. Last seen wearing black jean pants, grey cotton t-shirt, white tennis shoes.

HELP ID SHOOTING SUSPECT

The Mesa Police Department are seeking assistance in identifying suspects involved in a shooting.

On July 23, 2009 at approximately 2:10 a.m., the suspect and another subject entered the Chevron store located at 1956 E. Southern Avenue and attempted to purchase alcohol. After being refused, the subjects became upset and exited the store heading toward the pumps. The clerk noticed that they did not have a vehicle near the gas pumps and was concerned that they were going to damage the pumps.

The clerk exited the store and asked the subjects to leave the property. A verbal and physical altercation ensued between the clerk and the suspect. The second subject was not involved in the altercation and told the suspect to leave. Thinking the situation was over, the clerk started walking back to the store. As the clerk walked away, the suspect shot him in the back of the thigh. Both subjects fled the area in a green 2-door passenger vehicle.

The suspect is described as a white male, mid to late 20's, about 5'10" tall, 150 pounds, with short dark hair. The suspect had a handgun on his hip.

The second subject is described as a black male, mid to late 20's, about 5'11" tall, 150 pounds, with short black hair.

On September 1, 2009, about 2 P.M. a suspect entered the Wells Fargo Bank in the 1900 block of south Gilbert Road in Mesa and committed an armed robbery with a handgun. The suspect fled before police arrived and is still outstanding.

Suspect Description:
White male, dark tanned skin, 25-40 years old, 5’7” to 6’ tall, thick, muscular build with short or shaved hair with an acne scarred complexion. The suspect had surgical gauze covering the right side of face and his left arm was in a sling. He was wearing a long-sleeve olive green sweatshirt, dark pants, black ball cap, black sunglasses, and white tennis shoes.

Home Robbery

INCIDENT: On 08-22-2009, at approximately 11 PM, two suspects entered a residence in the 1200 Block of E. Jarvis Ave. and committed a robbery. One suspect was was armed with a handgun. The suspects exited the residence and fled in an unknown direction prior to Police arriving. They are still outstanding.

Suspects:

Suspect #1: Hispanic Male, black hair, age: early 20’s, approximately 5’06"-5’11", and 180 lbs., wore handkerchief over lower half of face and dark clothing.

Suspect #2: Hispanic Male, age: early 20’s, approximately 5’06"-5’11", and 180 lbs., wore a black ski mask and glasses.

Bank Robbery

On July 20th, 2009 the Wells Fargo bank located in the 1100 block of North Higley Road in Mesa was robbed by the listed suspect. The suspect fled on foot prior to Police arrival.

Suspect Description

Black male 600/190-200

Mid to late 20’s

Suspect wore a black doo rag with a white NBA sweat band, blue “Sixers” jersey, white shorts with golf style two tone shoes. Wore a brace on his left wrist.
