EL PASO, TEXAS – The El Paso Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons unit continues their search for a Missing Northeast El Pasoan 24-year old Marcos Reveles Jr. CAP has an additional photograph of Marcos taken in 2011. The community’s assistance is requested in locating Marcos Reveles Jr.

HISTORY

Investigators of the El Paso Police Department’s Northeast Regional Command are asking for the community’s assistance in locating a missing man. The investigation revealed that Marcos Reveles Jr., was last seen on Wednesday, June 5, 2012 at his home on Loma Grande. Reveles Jr., is known to go for walks around his northeast neighborhood twice a day. He suffers from several medical conditions to include diabetes, a speech impediment and depression. Reveles requires daily medication and investigators believe he does not have his medication with him. He usually dresses in a t-shirt, shorts and leather sandals. The colors of the clothes he may be wearing are not known. If anybody sees Marcos Reveles Jr., they are asked to call the El Paso Police Department at (915) 832-4400.

Nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be checking cars seat to ensure proper installation and usage. These checkups are free.

El Paso, Texas – The El Paso Police Department’s Westside Citizens’ Advisory Board and the Westside Regional Command will host a Bike Rodeo Safety Event, Saturday, June 8, 2013, from 0800 to 12:00 (Noon).

The Bike Rodeo is for children 5 to 15 years of age. Entrants must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. They should also bring a bike helmet and a bicycle in working condition. Prizes for completing the Rodeo will be given out and there will also be door prizes. TXDOT is sponsoring the Rollover Simulator; Westside Explorers will be assisting; El Paso Police Department Youth Academy applications will be available; Visual Impairment Demonstrations (visual goggles); No DWI/Drinking Responsibly Campaign will be on hand with information for the public..

Please come and join the Westside Citizens’ Advisory Board, TxDOT and the El Paso Police Department for a fun filled morning. This event is free and open to the public.

The El Paso Police Departments Annual Police Memorial will be held tomorrow, Friday May 24, 2013, to honor of the 29 El Paso Police Officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in serving our community. This year two El Paso Police Officers names will be added to the police monument. The El Paso Police Department, in partnership with the El Paso Municipal Police Officers Association (EPMPOA), will pay tribute to all of these officers and their families who died while serving the community. El Paso Police Chief Greg Allen will give opening remarks and family members of fallen officers will be provided an opportunity to address the audience. Chief Allen and El Paso Municipal Police Officers Association President Ron Martin will also be laying a wreath at the base of the police monument. This ceremony promises to be a very touching and emotional event. The El Paso Police Department would like to invite the citizens of El Paso to join the men and women of the El Paso Police Department along with local dignitaries and the families of the fallen officers in paying tribute to those El Paso Police Officers who gave their lives so that we may be safe. The media is encouraged to attend.

Police Arrest Man Who Stole Ring from Home While Caring for Elderly Man

Arrested: Jose Martin, 41 years of age of 9353 Viscount

Victim: Rosario Tovar, 45 years of age of the 9100 block of Jalapa

EL PASO, TEXAS – Investigators from the Mission Valley Regional Command have arrested and charged a man for stealing a ring from inside a home where he was employed as a caretaker. The man, identified as 41 year old Jose Martin, was employed by Bienvivir as a caretaker who provided services to elderly clients in their homes. Bienvivir has been contacted by officers and is cooperating with police. The investigation began on April 9, 2013 when a family member of the elderly patient notified police that a ring was missing from inside the home. Subsequent investigation led officers to a pawn shop where the ring had been pawned/sold by Martin. Investigators obtained a warrant for Theft over $1500 and under $20,000 based on the value of the ring. Martin was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on May 13^th with a bond set at $5,000.00

Officers do suspect that Martin may have stolen from other clients homes based on evidence they uncovered during their investigation. Anyone with information on additional cases involving this suspect are asked to call police at 915-832-4400 or to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 915-566-8477

The El Paso Police Department would also like to remind everyone to be mindful and secure valuables whenever you have contractors or people whom you are not familiar with entering your home to prevent these types of cases from occurring.

Vehicle Strikes 6 Year Old Female and Flees the Scene

Pedestrian: 6-year old Female, El Paso, TX resident (INJURED)

EL PASO, TEXAS – The Special Traffic Investigations Unit (STI) responded to assist Pebble Hills Regional Command with a vehicle collision that involved a pedestrian late Monday. The investigation revealed that a 6-year female was crossing the roadway (Sea Breeze) just north of the intersection of East Glenn, not in a crosswalk, when she ran into the path of a south bound vehicle. The vehicle south bound on Sea Breeze struck the pedestrian knocking her to the roadway. The operator of the vehicle exited the vehicle, picked up the pedestrian, carried her to the sidewalk and set her down. The operator then got back into the vehicle and fled. The pedestrian was transported to University Medical Center with serious injuries. The vehicle that struck the pedestrian is described as a dark or black colored SUV with tinted windows. The operator of the vehicle is described as a white female, wearing a baseball cap, short hair, earrings, Dallas Cowboys tank top and blue jeans. Anyone with information as the identity of the driver or the location of the vehicle is asked to call the El Paso Police Department at (915) 832-4400 or to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at (915) 566-8477 (TIPS).
