On Saturday April 18, 2015 at approximately 5:27 p.m., 4th Precinct units responded to the area of Warburton Ave and Babcock Place on a report of motor vehicle and pedestrian accident, possibly a hit and run. Upon arrival Officers observed a female victim, later identified as a 37 year old Yonkers resident, unconscious and suffering from several serious wounds to her lower extremities and torso. The victim was treated at scene by Empress Ambulance paramedics and subsequently removed to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

     Members of the Detective Division began an immediate investigation and accident investigators from the Traffic Division processed the accident scene for evidence. Initial reports indicate that a dark colored sedan was involved in the incident and subsequently fled the scene southbound on Warburton Avenue. No one is in custody at this time and no charges have been filed in relation to this incident. The victim is not being identified at this time pending notification to family members.
