Atlantic City male arrested for aggravated assault. Female victim knocked unconscious.

On Saturday October 17, 2015 Detective Neil Kane was notified of an aggravated assault that occurred in Browns Park and the female victim was listed in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit at AtlantiCare. Detective Kane responded to the AtlantiCare to interview the 44 year old victim. The female was conscious but she was unable to complete an interview at this time.  A local newspaper reporter contacted Police to advise them that the assault was caught on video and posted on social media, specifically Facebook.

From the investigation it appears the assault occurred during the daylight hours on Saturday October 17, 2015 at Brown's Park located at Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Boulevard and Baltic Avenues. The suspect was identified as Iben  Hunter of Atlantic City. The video coverage shows Hunter standing in front of the seated victim, waving his arms about and then struck the victim in the face with his closed fist causing her to fall back unconscious.

Detective Kane contacted Judge Billie Moore and went over the case with her.  Her honor then granted Probable Cause to issue a Wanted Warrant for the arrest of Iben Hunter charging him with Aggravated Assault.

An informational wanted flyer was prepared with the warrant number, Hunter's photo and a short description of the incident. All officers were notified that Hunter was wanted for this assault.
