Wells Fargo Bank Robbery Suspect Charged
The suspect in the Wells Fargo Bank robbery that occurred on August 3, 2019 at the West Valley Avenue branch has been formally charged by Homewood Police. On August 22, 2019 Homewood Detectives obtained a robbery first degree warrant (60, 000 bond) with the Jefferson County District Attorneys office on Monte Clayton Lynch age 49 who is originally from Missouri. Lynch is suspected in numerous bank robberies in Alabama, Georgia, ant Tennessee that have occurred over the past several months. Lynch has a criminal history of robbery. The FBI along with multiple agencies were involved in identifying Lynch. A tip led police in Montgomery to Lynch's whereabouts and he was taken into custody on August 16, 2019. Lynch is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail and is facing additional federal charges.
