The Homewood Police Department would like to remind everyone that Wednesday, August 19th, is  the first day of school for Homewood City Schools.  Motorists are reminded to reduce their speed  in the school zones and should expect traffic congestion for the first week or so of the school year during the morning drop off and afternoon pick up times.  We ask that all motorists remain patient while parents and students adjust into their normal drop off and pick up routines.  HPD will have extra patrols set up in the school zones for the first week or so of the school year.
