The Homewood Police Department has seen an increase over the past several weeks in utility trailer thefts throughout the city.  The suspect vehicle has been described as a large white SUV, unknown make, model, and tag number.  The thefts are mostly occurring in the overnight hours.  We are asking residents to secure their trailers with a lock, record the trailer's vehicle identification number and/or license tag number.  Having a picture of your trailer can also greatly assist our investigators in the event that your trailer is stolen.  If anyone sees suspicious persons or vehicles around parked trailers please call Homewood Police and report it.  If anyone has any information in regards to a trailer theft please contact the Homewood Police Criminal Investigations Division at 205 332 6216.
